Both programs are designed to give students the experience and training necessary to become licensed electricians. It is a combination of classroom instruction at the Independent Electrical Training Center (IETC) in Salem, OR and supervised work experience with approved employers, or training agents.
WHAT DO INSIDE ELECTRICIANS DO?
Inside electricians can complete work on residential, commercial, and electrical job sites. This includes new electrical installations, installing conduit, wiring lighting, switches, converters and complex computerized systems, maintaining and repairing large motors, inspecting circuit breakers and transformers. All this ranges from single-family homes to large state of the art industrial operations.
WHAT DO LIMITED RESIDENTIAL ELECTRICIANS DO?
Limited Residential Electricians can complete electrical work on residential new construction, remodel, and service repairs. This work includes single family, multifamily, apartment, town homes, and condominiums no more than 3 stories. The work includes power, lighting, and specialized systems for new and existing homes.
