Building a Stronger Workplace Starts with Looking Out for One Another

Mental health is an important part of workplace safety, well-being, and overall team performance. This Safety Training will provide an introduction to Suicide Prevention and Mental Health First Aid.  You'll learn practical tools for recognizing when someone may be struggling and responding with compassion and confidence.

Participants will learn how to identify potential signs of a mental health or substance use challenge, understand how to approach a conversation, and connect a colleague with appropriate resources and support. The session is designed to help members feel better prepared to respond when a coworker, employee, or team member may need help.

Attendees will gain:

• A better understanding of mental health and substance use challenges
• Tools for recognizing potential warning signs
• Guidance on how to start supportive conversations
• Strategies for responding appropriately and compassionately
• Resources for connecting individuals with professional support

Whether you are a business owner, executive, supervisor, project manager, or team member, this forum offers valuable insight into creating a workplace where people feel supported and know where to turn when they need help.

Meet our Subject Matter Expert:

Kristina Sand has been a dedicated member of Community Reach Center for 13 years, currently serving as Executive Administrator supporting the CEO, Board of Directors, and Executive Leadership Team. In this role, she provides high-level administrative support, coordinates organizational priorities, and helps ensure the successful operation of executive and board activities.   In addition to her executive administration responsibilities, Kristina serves as Community Reach Center’s Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Coordinator. Over the past six years, she has organized more than 80 MHFA classes throughout Adams and Broomfield Counties. She is also a certified Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing and regularly teaches courses in the community. Kristina is passionate about mental health awareness, community education, and making a positive difference in the lives of others. She enjoys giving back to her community through various volunteer activities connected to her children’s activities and church. Outside of work and volunteering, Kristina enjoys spending time with her family and her two dogs, Boulder and Scout, exploring and enjoying the great outdoors of Colorado.
