The Solar Installation Training (SIT) course will introduce the electrician to the installation and electrical connection of solar panels in a residential, commercial, industrial and/or utility setting. 

Be prepared for a 10-day, 40-hour course that covers:

  • System Operation & Maintenance
• Hands-On Connection Training
• Remote Data Monitoring
• System Maintenance

The SIT course is Monday and Wednesday beginning Monday, June 3, 2024 through July 10, 2024, from 4:00pm - 8:00pm, at the IEC Atlanta Training Center: 4500 Winters Chapel Rd., Atlanta, GA 30360.

There will be NO classes the week of July 1, 2024.

IEC's Cancellation Policy requires a 1-week written notice.  Notify the IEC by Friday, May 24, 2024 if you are unable to attend.  IEC accepts substitutions for this course.

Instructor: Richard McMahon

Mr. McMahon has been involved with installation of Residential PV Systems in the Atlanta area since 2020. He has been working with IEC Atlanta Contractor Members for over 10 years and currently serves as the Electrical Services Manager for GAF Energy.

Mr. McMahon is licensed in Georgia as an Electrical Contractor – Non-Restricted, has earned his NABCEP PV Associate credential, and is working to earn his NABCEP PV Installation Professional (PVIP) Board Certification.

Mr. McMahon believes the PV Industry offers significant opportunities for both IEC Contractor Members and their IEC trained Electricians.
