Mr. Michael Gunter

With 34 years of experience in the electrical industry, Mr. Michael Gunter brings unmatched expertise and a passion for teaching. Here’s his journey:

• Hands-On Experience: Started as an electrician in the field and transitioned into an estimating position at Electrical Contractor Inc., dedicating 26 years as an estimator.
• Educational Leadership: Began teaching in the IEC apprenticeship program after graduation and has been shaping the electrical industry for 27 years. Currently teaches Code to 4th-year apprentices and serves as a Level 3 Instructor at IEC.
• Industry Contributions:
  • Appointed to the National Apprenticeship and Training Committee for 10 years, contributing to the development and improvement of industry training programs.
  • Authored curriculums for 2nd and 3rd-year programs, including the new “ESTS” Electrical Systems Training Program.
  • Created skills-based training programs (Level 1 and 2), a new solar program, and advanced estimating courses.
  • Developed a specialized course on McCormick Estimating Software.
• Recognitions: Appointed to NFPA Code Making Panel 14 in 2023 to represent the IEC organization.
