The IECRM Electric Vehicle Charging Station Training Program (EVCSTP) is an instructor-led certification course designed to equip participants with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills for installing electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Participants will explore the fundamentals of electric vehicle technology, including battery management systems, charging infrastructure, and electric motor systems, along with applicable NEC code requirements. The program offers a deep understanding of the principles behind EVs and the latest advancements in battery technology, energy storage, and sustainable transportation.

This class meets once a week for four hours over six consecutive weeks.

Students will also gain hands-on training in design, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of EV charging systems, guided by a licensed Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician.

The EVCSTP aligns with the national guideline standard recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor and meets the requirements for certification in EV charging station installation. Graduates receive a certificate equivalent to other approved national programs, valid for 20 Continuing Education Hours toward Colorado DORA electrical license renewal.

Program Format:
Total Program Length: 24 hours (good for 20 CEU's)
Structure: Six modules with a 100-question proficiency exam
Instructor-Led: Taught by licensed JW/ME professionals
