Foundations of Successful Project Management Electrical Trade

The IEC Atlanta & Georgia Education Committee invites Foremen, Superintendents, Leads, and Top Apprentices to this 3-day course detailing the duties and functions of Project Managers. Participants will learn to identify soft and hard skills, assess strengths and weaknesses, and gain resources and skill development exercises. The course covers estimating processes, job resource management, defining and cultivating favorable leadership behaviors, and contractual change processes. Additionally, participants will learn to demonstrate accurate change order costs and more.
The course will include 8 hours of instruction each day, covering the four major divisions of the project life cycle:
- Project Acquisition and Initiation
- Project Planning
- Project Execution
- Project Completion and Close-Out
Participants must have the following access and technical experience:
- Access to a laptop computer or similar device
- Internet connectivity and active email address
- Minimum proficiency with MS Office tools including: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams
- Minimum proficiency and access to file sharing services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Sharepoint

Brian has been actively involved in the electrical industry since 1990. After eight years in Retail Management, Brian entered and completed a four-year Electrical Apprenticeship Training Program. He came to Tutor Electrical Service, Inc. in 1997 from a contractor in Florida, where he worked as a Project Foreman/Superintendent, successfully completing several large commercial and institutional projects. Brian is a licensed Journeyman Electrician and has worked as a Project Foreman, Estimator, and Project Manager at Tutor Electrical Service, Inc. prior to being named Vice President.
Brian holds a Post-Secondary Technical Degree in Industrial Electricity and is a graduate of the 80-hour Project Management Institute at Purdue University. He also holds Masters’ degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Tarleton State University.

This class requires a 1 week's written cancellation notice on or before Wednesday, May 13, 2026, for a refund less a $55 cancellation fee after that date the full amount of tuition is due. No refunds after Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
